O.K. everyone, and I mean everyone.  Once again Steve asked out a woman while at Rainbow, we exchanged e-mails with plans of getting together at the SunnySideUp cafe'.  So on the count of three everyone cross their fingers.  One . . Two . . Three.  Thanks hopefully that will shift my Karmic balance.

Sat, Sun, and Monday, I was in a slump.  Various things conspired to make me down:  romantic disapointment, friends mother in hospital and the doctors aren't very hopeful, reading A Thousand Splendid Suns which is a very painful book to read and honestly no where near as good as The Kite Runner, current unavailability of my friends, and money troubles stemming from mistakenly signing up for the wrong package.  Picked myself up yesterday, didn't want to waste the rest of my days off.  Picked up the paint brush again, and finished another painting.  Started practicing my next story.
Oh and weeeeeee the 5" 2-way Yamaha bookshelf speakers I ordered lastweek Tuesday came yesterday.

Still in a bit of a slump.  Dissappointed that I'm not infatuated with this woman that I met through MySpace.  I mean friends is wonderful, just I hoped it be more.  Oh well moving on; at least it's beautiful out.

Went to see The Bucket List with Shawn, my on-line friend last night.  Good movie but not really a comedy though there were funny parts.  Unfortunately there's no chemistry betwixt us.  I'll get over that, besides it's good having another friend.  I n good news I managed to but a set of Yamaha 5" 2-way speakers, and only pay 50$ out of my pocket.  They were 112$, which includes the shipping for they were out of stock, but I had Christmas money which I hadn't spent yet as well as a gift card.

Tuesday evening was my Toast Masters meeting.  Went great, we had two guests which was cool and all three speakers were very delightful to hear.  Played some cool games Wednesday evening:  Ivanhoe, a pretty nifty jousting tourney card game.   Winner's circle, a cleverhorse racing game where you try and get your horses over the finish line first so you win your bets.  Yesterday I finished reading Crashing Through which is a well told story, and proceed to start A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.  I also determined that that one painting is indeed done.  Which makes for a total of 11 finished pieces.  YEAH!!!  Today I finished my story about Coyote stealing fire for Toast Masters; and I typed it up and printed it out.  I went over to Outback Steak House to use a gift card I had only to find out that the one in Roseville doesn't open till 4:00!  So on my way home I ran a bunch of errands including buying more paint.  All in all a wonderful week.

Finished The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho the other day.  Pretty good book though it didn't reach my top ten.  Now I'm reading Crashing Through a true story of risk, adventure and the man who dared to see, written by Robert Kurson.  I'm about 2/3 the way through and I only started Saturday evening.

My new friend came down with a severe cold Saturday so our plans for Sunday got scrapped till next weekend.  I was fine with that at first but by last night it got me down.  It didn't help that I was in the neighborhood where my ex used to live when everything was fun/adventurous/exciting.  I'm better today though.
Went to a storytelling concert yesterday afternoon and that was way cool.  Unfortunately it was then that my mood started to unravel, and then it took me forever to get home because I kept missing buses.

This Week

Aside from the usual gaming: Tues, Wens, Sat; I painted.  Now to fill the background, since I start work at 7:00 A.M. 5 days a week my normal bedtime is 10:00 P.M.   So Friday night at 9:15 I picked up a brush and didn't stop painting until 12:45!  Within this three hours I decided that one of my pieces that I put away was indeed done.  I did some interesting stuff with another that perhaps finished it(today I decided otherwise).  Then, I took out the canvas that I just bought that day(my largest so far 36"X48").  I completely Fucked around with it; did all sorts of truly weird shit to it, till it got to this point that was totally fucking wild!  Now What!  I was in a totally amazed, intrigued, insane, confused state: swearing like a sailor out of perplexity and awe.  So I stepped back for a bit to decide what to next or whether I should even continue.  That's when I saw the pink carnations that happened to be on my table.  Hmmmm . . that's a really nice color.  You know that would be interesting.  So I filled the rest of the canvas with pink.  Insane it can't possibly be done it's wicked cool and I only spent like an hour and a half on it!  Today it still looked done, but being the skeptic that I am I put it away for now.  So we'll see.

hmmmm seems like the jubilant icon should be jumping around or something

Finished The Shadow of the Wind  Thursday.  A very good book, I gave it to my friend Joe yesterday.  Friday night and a bit yesterday morning, I straightened up for company.  Three of my friends came over.  Got a chance to play King'sguard again, as well as this other way cool game whose name I don't remember, something like Dragonstones.  Played a horrendously exciting game of Condotierre' which I managed to win; then ended up with a game of Cosmic Wimpout.  Then we sat around and talked for awhile.  My friend Joe is a wonderful conversationalist, he has a gift which I've only seen a few times, he brings everyone into the conversation with ease and grace, it's really cool.  I know people who don't much, I know people who talk allot, I even know people who'll ask allot of questions but rarely are all three so seamlessly put together.  O.K. I'll stop my gushing now.  After this I managed to get to Java Jacks before the Story performance was over, then some of went out for another of my friends birthday.

Oh and I seem to have a date for tomorrow.    :)  :)  :)
